Elaine Heil (Board Member At Large)
Elaine Hiels love of theater is what brings her to the Board of Mo`olelo. In her home town of Worcester, MA, she would drag family and friends to see local plays/concerts and has continued to do so by being usher captain at a number of theatres in San Diego county for near 35 years. She saw Seema in Jenny Chow, heard she was starting a new theater company and offered to support her efforts. Seema actually took her up on her offer! As a result, Elaine has taken on the role of Usher Coordinator for the Mo`olelo productions.

Elaine migrated here via UC Berkeley to do her Masters in PHN internship at San Diego County Health Services, stayed on staff, and had a varied and productive career. She retired as their Public Health Nutrition Manager 37 years later. In addition to being chosen United Way Health Volunteer of the Year and honorary lifetime member of the San Diego Dietetics Association, she has served on many Boards and acted as committee chairs over the years. She is currently Co-chair of the San Diego Nutrition Council.

She and her husband Joe call themselves theatre junkies enjoying the many varied and wonderful opportunities San Diego community arts offers. Their newly married son and daughter-in-law enjoy the arts as well.
